Students who believe small actions grow into lasting change.
The Pennsylvania Pollination Project was founded in 2026 by Matthew Lo, a student at The Haverford School, who recognized that native pollinators including bees, butterflies, and other essential insects were disappearing from neighborhoods across the Philadelphia region.
Matthew brought together a group of students from schools across the Main Line and Philadelphia, each passionate about the environment and eager to take real action. Together, they began assembling native planting kits and planning the project's first community gardens and school workshops.
We are just getting started, but we believe that student-led action, one garden and one kit at a time, can make a lasting difference for Pennsylvania's pollinators and the ecosystems that depend on them.
